"My Story: From a Farmer's Daughter to an ACS Chemistry Ambassador"
Ruth Woodall grew up on a farm in West Tennessee and graduated from a high school that did not offer chemistry. My aspirations were to be a Physical Therapist. I went to Union University in Jackson, TN and struggled to graduate with a B.S. degree in Chemistry and never became a Physical Therapist. My life story is one that started out being introduced to chemistry at 18 years of age and became enriched as I grew older. I was a high school chemistry teacher, an active ACS member volunteer and now working as an Associate VP of Education and Workforce Development at the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Nashville. I will share with you how the ACS has helped to transform my life and career. Finally, I will talk about the ACS Chemistry Ambassador program and my work with the ACS Tennessee Government Affairs Committee.
