Take Back the Night is an annual opportunity to stand together as a campus community against domestic and sexual violence in our world.
TBTN begins at 5:00 pm in the HSS Amphitheater with a resource fair. At the fair, students can learn about UT and local organizations that provide help to survivors, pick up free t-shirts, and add their name to the pledge to end domestic violence.
At 5:30, the resource fair will move into a silent march through campus. Students can carry signs to show their solidarity with victims and survivors. The march will end with a Candlelight Vigil at the Torchbearer, to remember lives lost to sexual violence.
At 6:30, memiorist Neesha Arter will speak about her own experience as a survivor in Art and Architecture 115. Attendees will then be invited to share their own stories in a SpeakOut. The SpeakOut is a confidential space, and there will be counselors on hand for those who need them.
