English lecture, The Aesthetics of Disability and Poverty: How to Talk about How the Other Looks

Professor Lennard J. Davis, a nationally and internationally recognized specialist in disability studies, is Distinguished Professor of English at the University of Illinois at Chicago, School of Arts and Sciences.  He is also professor of disability and human development in the School of Applied Health Sciences, professor of medical education in the University of Illinois College of Medicine, and director of Project Biocultures, a think-tank devoted to issues around the intersection of culture, medicine, disability, biotechnologies, and the biosphere.

Professor Davis's talk is part of the Department of English Literature, Criticism, and Textual Studies Speakers Series.
