Founded in 2015, we are the first organization at the University of Tennessee dedicated to helping and encouraging women in the field of physics. WiP strives to create an environment open for discussion to empower women in the sciences as well as provide opportunities for students pursuing physics to learn about available career paths, social issues in the field, and job skills. In addition to being extremely active in WiP along with our partner organization SPS and other various campus organizations, our members are excellent students and actively conduct research with university professors and Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
