Join us on June 18, 5-6 pm, in Morrison's Conference Room for a presentation and demonstration on the Healing Power of Music by Alana Seaton, board-certified music therapist.
Alana has been using musical experiences to improve the quality of life for people of all ages, backgrounds, and conditions since 2002. The evidence-based healthcare field of music therapy is well documented as a powerful means of addressing a wide variety of health issues including pain management, stress relief, relaxation, mind-body connection, as well as emotional issues of the heart and mind. Alana is master's level, board certified music therapist with research experience in the area of stress management. She has extensive clinical experience from both in-patient and out-patient settings, and is also a NICU certified music therapist. Her current clinical interests lie in the effects of music on interpersonal relationships, health, and early childhood attachment & development. Alana maintains a private practice in Fountain City, and is a part-time staff member of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra working closely with the quartet musicians of the KSO Music & Wellness Program.
