Junior Colloquium

Thursday, 06 February, 2014

SPEAKER: Prof. Jonathan Hauenstein, North Carolina State University

TITLE: The Motion of Mechanisms

ABSTRACT: Simple mechanisms are used everyday in various applications such as windshield wipers, welding robots, and flight simulators. A key aspect in designing a mechanism is to determine how it will move, that is, to understand the kinematics of the mechanism. This talk will explore the motion of mechanisms using easy to understand concepts from multivariate calculus and basic linear algebra.

Pizza will be available at 3:10 p.m.
