Muggles #Write4Rights!

Thursday, 21 November, 2013

"Ordinary people, whose personal well-being and security are assured, join together in huge numbers to save people they do not know, and will never meet. My small participation in that process was one of the most humbling and inspiring experiences of my life."
-J.K. Rowling on her work with Amnesty International

Do you like Harry Potter and writing strongly worded letters to advance human rights? Well Amnesty International UTK has the event for you!

Please come join us for WRITE-A-THON 2013 on Thursday, November 21, at 7 pm in room 212 of Hodges Library.

We will write letters to different world leaders highlighting the plight of prisoners of conscience and human rights violations around the world. In exchange, you will receive pizza and the chance to participate in global actions with other activists. Form letters with addresses to the appropriate representative or leader will be provided. You may copy them word for word if you wish. You are free to come and go anytime between 7 and 10 pm.

There will be FREE pizza and screenings of the Harry Potter films!

So, bring your muggle friends and participate in Muggles #Write4Rights!
