Program on Visa Options Presented by the UT Center for International Education
On June 12, the UT Center for International Education will present a training program for staff in UT departments which host or hire full-time international employees, scholars, and visitors. The program will give an overview of the most common visas used by incoming international scholars (especially H-1B, J-1, B-1 and Visa Waiver/WB) and will help you identify the most appropriate visa to request for a particular situation. We will also give a general idea of the procedures and processing time needed for each visa or immigration status, but this session will not include detailed training on immigration paperwork. (Other CIE programs provide more detailed information about H-1B or J-1 regulations and paperwork.)
If your department has [non-student] international employees or hosts international visitors (including speakers and other short-term visitors), this program will help you understand the options available and what to do to get your scholars into the U.S. or [if appropriate] to get them work permission.
When: Wednesday, June 12; 2:00 – 4:00 pm
Where: International House, Great Room
If you have questions about the program, contact David Lawson (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Wendy Syer (email@example.com). RSVP's are appreciated, but not required.
