Faculty Panel: How to ask for and write strong letters of recommendation for nationally competitive opportunities

Wednesday, 06 March, 2013

Faculty panel: Dr. Jeff Becker, Dr. Tom Burman, and Dr. Michael Handelsman

Critical to every nationally competitive scholarship and fellowship application are strong letters of recommendation.  As a student, it is important to build relationships with faculty early on and eventually decide who is best able to write on your behalf.  Hear from ONSF staff on ways to plan for and anticipate requesting good letters of recommendation.  And, as faculty, it is equally important to craft letters which offer in-depth insights into a student's record of achievement and potential for success. Learn more from UTK faculty colleagues on how to develop strong letters of recommendation for nationally prestigious opportunities like the Truman, Rhodes, Marshall, Goldwater and Fulbright scholarships.  All UT students, faculty and staff are invited to attend.
