As a part of the End IT Movement, the International Justice Mission -- a human rights organization that combats human trafficking and other forms of violent oppression -- is holding a nationwide "Stand for Freedom" event from March 5 to March 15. During this event, college campuses, communities, and churches across the nation will stand for 27 hours for the 27 million still enslaved. The University of Tennessee IJM campus chapter is hosting a Stand for Freedom on Pedestrian Walkway. The event will take place on Tuesday, March 5 to Thursday, March 7 from 9 am to 5:30 pm each day.
Volunteers are needed each day to hold up signs, hand out fliers, collect petition signatures and cash donations, assist at a "make your own sign" station, and, if possible, bring laptops so people can donate to IJM online. The more volunteers that stand with us, the bigger the impact we can make! An online form can be found at the following link for anyone interested in participating in the stand.
Any volunteers will be contacted by e-mail with further information closer to the event date. Also, if anyone is interested in donating to IJM or starting a campaign on the IJM site, please visit the following link https://www.ijmfreedommaker.org/campaign/963/UT-Frees-the-Slaves-Campaign/
