New Orleans' own Hot 8 Brass Band has epitomized New Orleans street music for over a decade. Members of the Hot 8 have toured in Japan, Italy, France, Spain, Finland, England and Sardinia. The Hot 8 will perform many styles of Jazz that have been influenced by African-Americans and the New Orleans culture. General admission tickets are available for $10 and are available at or any Knoxville Tickets ticket outlet located in the Knoxville area. University of Tennessee students can pick up one FREE ticket the UT Central Ticket Office.

On the morning of the performance, The Hot 8 Brass Band will also host a signature demonstration entitled Hot8 Gumbo. The theme of the demonstration will be "Rap, Jazz, Rock, and Myth: Tradition and Transformation in Contemporary New Orleans Brass Bands." This Demonstration has been developed for students, faculty and community members. It combines live performance with the personal stories of band members to connect participants to the people, music, traditions that have emerged from the streets of New Orleans. The event will take place at 11:15 AM on Monday, February 25th at the University Center Auditorium.
